Laila Rosen, Teaching Artist
Laila Rosen is a movement based performance artist currently in Brooklyn, NY. After an upbringing in classical dance, she received her contemporary training from the San Francisco Conservatory of Dance and Nuova Officina Della Danza in Torino, Italy. She received her BFA in Dance from New York University, Tisch School Of The Arts where she began to develop her own choreographic work through multidisciplinary collaboration as well as working with choreographers Yin Yue, Dwight Rhoden, and Courtney Mazeika. Upon graduation, she has been in creation with choreographers Emilie Leriche, Astrid Boons, Sommer Ulrickson & Klaus Guth, Susannah Yugler, Lauri Stallings, and Sound Artist/Mechanical Engineer Mischa Langley. Currently, she performs and works closely with sound artist Maxi Glenn. Their work has been presented through Fridman Gallery, Atlas Theatre, INTIMA, Momenta, and Kaleidoscope Gallery. She has been featured in both Office Magazine and Decal Magazine, and continues to freelance as a movement artist, creative collaborator, and researcher within the performance arts.
