Sarah Pope, Teaching Artist
Sarah is a dancer, improviser, clown, teacher, and personal trainer/fitness instructor based in Brooklyn, NY. A specialist in early childhood dance education, she has worked with Together in Dance since 2011, and was a longtime faculty member at Spoke the Hub Dancing and the Prospect Park YMCA. She now runs her own studio classes at Spoke the Hub in Brooklyn, under the name Sarah Pope Dance, and is the movement specialist at Congregation Beth Elohim's Early Childhood Center. As a performer, Sarah has collaborated with many choreographers and companies, most recently with Mark Lamb Dance, with Renee Gerardo Dances, with clown partner Beth Leonard (as SarahBesque & Bethford), and with fellow TID teaching artist Louise Heit! From 2019 to 2022, Sarah served as the Assistant Director of Dances for Solidarity, a project which co-creates dance with currently and formerly incarcerated artists. dancesforsolidarity.org IG: @SolidarityDance.
