Macy Sullivan, Teaching Artist

Macy Sullivan is a New York City-based dancer, collaborator, and teaching artist who began teaching in 2005 in Portland, OR.  Her teaching practice has since evolved to reach a wide range of ages, abilities, genres, and communities.  She's proud to be on faculty with Together in Dance and appreciates its commitment to developing trauma-informed and culturally responsive approaches.  Sullivan is also on faculty with Dance for PD®, teaching dance classes to people with Parkinson’s Disease, and works as a mentor at her alma mater, The Juilliard School.  Teaching engagements with 92NY, New York City Center, Lincoln Center, and NYC’s DOE have all supported her development in this field.  Sullivan is a two-time recipient of the Goldman Arts Enrichment Teaching Fellowship in partnership with Harlem School of the Arts and is grateful to many other organizations for eye-opening perspectives on how art can initiate change.  Her recent artistic endeavors have ranged from working on the creative team of Joyce Theater Production's SW!NG OUT, a Lindy Hop program bringing live swing dance and music to audiences nationwide, to performing annually as Peter in Works & Process’ Peter & the Wolf with Isaac Mizrahi.
